Week 2  (28/04/2021)

For this I Am Amplifier Project, our task was to make a placard. 

I decided to choose police brutality for my topic and to show that this is a problem that has always existed and been going on since a long time ago.

I researched on cases in the United States and the protests in Hong Kong. For the US one I researched about cases where the police uses unnecessary and excessive force on people, most times even without identifying the person. Cases like this would most probably be related to prejudice and racism toward others based on their skin color. The research on this also kind of relates to the Black Live Matter (BLM) protest. 

 

For the case study on Hong Kong police brutality, the protest was peaceful but police also used unnecessary force towards the protesters and even used weapons and equipment such as tear gas and other methods to hurt protesters.

In the end i decided to focus on the case in the US and will do more research on that afterwards.
