Translation & Transmission PART 2

-Weekly Blog

Week 6 (26/09/2021) â€‹

This week I've done a bit more of progress on developing my idea from last week. After my previous tutorials I searched up some references on those dress up games or 'create a character' type of games or activities. â€‹

Storyline

I didn't know where to start, so I thought of making a storyline for my idea. The storyline I thought of was like a 'zombie apocalypse' theme to it. It talks about how the main character, we'll call him Masky for now, is on a mission to eliminate all enemies (aka zombies), and the only way possible to do that is for him to gather enough comrades and create an army of unique individuals. By gathering an army and joining forces, only would Masky be able to defeat the enemies. Their one and only goal? To bring back their once peaceful homeland.

Ideation/How it works?

My idea for this part of the project was to start of with 1 character on a board with a storyline that required others to join him. Basically, viewers can also participate in the project. What they need to do is firstly, picking a character template/silhouette from the 3 given choices. Each of the templates would have two sides. The back of the template would have 5 or 6 questions. Viewers are required to answer the questions by picking the given choices. By answering the questions, viewers can proceed to the next booth/part.

The next step would be decorating or creating their character. The way this works is that the decoration or parts of their character depends on the answers they chose during those 5 or 6 questions.

Materials

For the materials, I thought having the character templates to be made of card or any type of hard paper. For the decorations or parts I previously thought of using felt but was afraid if it would stick well or not as it was like cloth, so maybe I would go with card for it too. I thought of having the decorations to be stickers currently I'm still considering on either making them stickers or just using double sided tape as it is a more easier alternative compared to sticker.

Extras

I also thought of making an info book in a form of a pamphlet. The reason for this was to also showcase the different possible accessories and decorations they could possibly get depending on which answers were chosen.
